Shareholder Structure Changes
Since our founding in 2018, we as 3D.aero have continuously developed, produced and distributed innovative automation and digitalization solutions for the aviation industry. Together with industrial 3D-sensor solutions, we also provide digital quality assurance and image processing applications, as well as mobile inspection assistance tools.
On the 1st of January 2021, the company ESPACE 2001 S.A. took over 3D.aero, after Lufthansa Technik AG and Pepperl + Fuchs SE sold their shares of the company due to portfolio adjustments caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. After these changes in the year 2021, we had the chance to enhance our product portfolio and our expertise in the field of sensor-supported automation technology. We also used the possibility to expand our customer market further than the aviation industry.
Now, 3D.aero has changed the shareholder structure to ensure a longterm and forward-looking company for the upcoming future. The original founding management team from 2018 now holds the larger part of shares of the holding company, which ensures for a highly qualified and motivated team structure for the future at the location in Hamburg.
In addition, shares were transferred to IT Concepts GmbH from Lahnau (near the optics city of Wetzlar), a camera and endoscopy manufacturer with a high level of development and production depth, as well as a worldwide sales network. IT Concepts will act as an additional sales channel and also produce the standard sensor solutions for 3D.aero as a hardware system supplier. 3D.aero’s extensive software know-how will expand the existing product range of IT Concepts in the future and thereby generate mutual synergies.
„The founding of the holding company and thus the majority transfer of the business shares into the hands of the original founding team shows the commitment to Hamburg as a location for the company. In addition, it reflects the will of the founding team to take over the responsibility for the strategic direction, the operational actions and ultimately the economical results“, emphasizes Michael Ernst, Sales Manager at 3D.aero and Managing Director of the holding company.
„The partnership with IT Concepts offers the opportunity, especially in the stereo vision technology sector, to further develop the portfolio of innovative inspection solutions in an even more focused manner and to market them customer-oriented with a global on-site presence“, added Sönke Bahr, Managing Director of 3D.aero GmbH.
Alexander Boll, Managing Partner of IT Concepts GmbH explains: „We can already see strong synergies between the two companies through previous cooperations with 3D.aero. The upcoming, even closer cooperation will bundle activities in the areas of development, production and sales. This will allow for market shares to be expanded in the respective core businesses and for opening up new markets through the complementary technology portfolio.“
