The HP-AX enables complete digitalization and micrometer-accurate inspection of large and complex components, providing a fast and reliable alternative to fluorescent penetrant inspection.
The HP-AX system is designed for the inspection of large and complex components. Using industrial robots with an extended workspace and additional external axes, even oversized parts can be fully digitalized and inspected at the push of a button with micrometer-level resolution.
The HP-AX was developed to replace traditional crack inspection based on fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) with a faster, more precise and fully digital alternative. Powered by white light interferometry, the system generates high-resolution surface data that enables significantly improved crack detection. In addition, the fully digitalized component model, including documented defects, creates the foundation for downstream automated processes such as milling or welding.
Cracks are detected and highlighted automatically, allowing operators to focus directly on potential damage locations instead of manually scanning the entire component.
The high resolution and multi-tool methodology also enable the reliable detection and documentation of dents, nicks, scratches, and signs of corrosion, which previously had to be laboriously identified manually as part of conventional inspections.
